Carnival Parade

This event is the master showcase of Tallafesta, as bands, floats and troupes, decked with costumes made of brilliant feathers, sequins and rhinestones dance through downtown Tallahassee along a pre-designated route. Costumes usually take on a theme and are made in a myriad of designs ranging from butterflies to dragons.
The Parade will feature a Parade Marshall leading the Parade. Following will be troupes, floats and bands.

The Parade will proceed to its destination, the Carnival Village (Adams Street Commons}, where participants will take turns on stage for the final competition of the ‘bands’. Judges will be in place to determine winners in several categories. Once Parade participants have moved from the main streets onto the Village compounds, closed streets will be re-opened to vehicular traffic. At the Village, costumes will be showcased and eventually dismantled as Parade festivities comes to an end.
